Thai Airways Becomes 1st Global Airline to Line-Fit Neo Space Group’s IFC Solution on Boeing 787 Dreamliner Fleet

by Editorial Staff

Neo Space Group (NSG), a PIF company, and Thai Airways have announced a major partnership to line-fit the advanced NSG Skywaves® in-flight connectivity (IFC) solution on the airline’s entire new fleet of Boeing 787 Dreamliners. This agreement covers all 34 of THAI’s 787s, positioning both companies at the forefront of next-generation aviation connectivity.

By opting for a factory line-fit installation, Thai Airways ensures each new aircraft is delivered with full connectivity capability from its first day of service, eliminating the need for costly and disruptive aftermarket retrofits. This expansion deepens a partnership that began in 2024 with retrofits on THAI’s Boeing 777 fleet and also includes future line-fit installations on its Airbus A321neo aircraft.

The NSG Skywaves® solution will provide passengers with high-speed broadband of up to 200 Mbps, enabling seamless streaming, communication, and productivity. This enhancement is central to Thai Airways’ strategy of delivering a world-class, premium customer experience and strengthening its operational capabilities on long-haul routes.

For NSG, this selection by a leading international carrier is a significant milestone, establishing it as the launch provider for line-fit IFC on the Boeing 787 platform. The solution leverages SES’s multi-orbit Open Orbits™ network, combining the low latency of MEO satellites with the stable coverage of GEO satellites. This is integrated with the proven ThinKom Ka2517 antenna to ensure reliable, resilient connectivity, including uninterrupted service over regions like India and China.

This achievement marks a major step in NSG’s international growth, with over 350 aircraft now activated or in its backlog. As a PIF company, this progress supports Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 by advancing digital transformation in aviation and strengthening the Kingdom’s role in the global space economy.
