Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. has announced a significant contract valued at approximately $11 million with a major Asia-Pacific satellite operator. The agreement, secured by Gilat’s Commercial Division, centers on the supply of its SkyEdge platform, which will be deployed to deliver a range of services over Very High Throughput Satellites (VHTS). Deliveries and deployment are scheduled to occur over the coming year.

The customer selected Gilat’s SkyEdge platform based on its established track record in managing high-capacity networks. Key deciding factors included the platform’s inherent flexibility to support diverse service profiles and its scalable architecture, designed to adapt to evolving market demands and traffic growth. This deployment is strategically intended to allow the operator to efficiently launch advanced mobility services while optimizing the return on its substantial VHTS investments.

In a statement regarding the deal, Ron Levin, President of Gilat’s Commercial Division, emphasized the platform’s specialized capabilities. “We are proud to support this customer’s VHTS strategy with a SkyEdge platform that is purpose-built for high capacity, multi-application satellite networks,” said Levin. He added, “This deal reflects the strong confidence operators continue to place in Gilat’s technology and our ability to deliver reliable, future-ready solutions for complex satellite environments.”

This contract is more than a single sale; it highlights a critical industry trend. The order underscores Gilat’s leadership in providing the essential ground segment infrastructure required to unlock the full potential of next-generation satellites. As global demand for high-bandwidth, low-latency connectivity surges—driven by applications in mobility, enterprise, and government sectors—robust and intelligent ground systems like SkyEdge are becoming increasingly vital. They serve as the crucial link that translates raw satellite capacity into reliable, scalable, and profitable services for end-users.

The partnership signals the Asia-Pacific operator’s commitment to advancing its service portfolio and infrastructure, leveraging Gilat’s proven technology to stay competitive in a rapidly expanding market. For Gilat, this order reinforces its position as a key enabler for satellite operators worldwide who are navigating the transition to high-throughput architectures and seeking to maximize the efficiency and versatility of their space assets.
