Marabu Airlines and Lufthansa Technik Expand Cooperation

by Editorial Staff

In a significant development for European aviation, Lufthansa Technik and Estonian carrier Marabu Airlines have announced a substantial extension and expansion of their long-term partnership. This renewed collaboration underscores a shared commitment to operational excellence and fleet growth, solidifying a relationship that has been foundational since Marabu’s launch in 2023. The cornerstone of this enhanced agreement is the continuation of a comprehensive Total Component Support (TCS) contract, a flagship program from the global market leader in technical aircraft services.

The TCS agreement is a critical support mechanism for Marabu’s ongoing Airbus A320neo fleet expansion. This model, highly valued by airlines worldwide, guarantees the airline seamless access to Lufthansa Technik’s vast global pool of serviceable spare parts. It ensures high aircraft availability and minimizes downtime by providing rapid logistical support and efficient repair services for virtually all replaceable aircraft components. This robust component supply chain is vital for maintaining the demanding schedules of a modern airline.

Beyond the core TCS, the strategic partnership between the two companies is notably multifaceted. The scope of their cooperation already encompasses the supply of essential consumables and expandables, comprehensive aircraft engineering services, and expert certification support provided by Lufthansa Technik. This holistic support package allows Marabu to focus on its commercial growth and network expansion, secure in the knowledge that its technical operations are managed by an industry leader.

Laszlo Molnar, Technical Director at Marabu Airlines, emphasized the strategic value of the alliance, stating, “Our partnership with Lufthansa Technik supports Marabu’s continued growth and ambition. As our fleet expands, having a strong technical partner allows us to maintain the high operational standards our passengers and partners expect.”

Echoing this sentiment, Tanja Pustolla, Corporate Sales Executive for Europe, Middle East and Africa at Lufthansa Technik, expressed her pride in the deepened relationship. “We are honored that Marabu not only extended but also expanded their contracts with us. For us being a company in Germany, Marabu is even more special since they offer flights out of several German airports,” she said. “We have established a very successful working relationship, and it is a privilege being part of Marabu’s growth.” This extended contract signifies a vote of confidence and a promising future for both entities in the competitive aviation landscape.
