Bell Textron has been selected to advance to the next phase of the U.S. Army’s Flight School Next competition. This progression means Bell and its industry teammates will move forward in the rigorous selection process for this crucial military flight training program.

“We are honored to move forward in the Army’s Flight School Next program,” said Jeffrey Schloesser, senior vice president of strategic pursuits at Bell. “With Bell’s extensive history in military flight training, the proven Bell 505, and the expertise of our teammates, we are confident that our turnkey solution will support the Army in developing the next generation of Aviation Warfighters.”

Bell’s proposal is built upon a legacy of trust with the Army that spans more than seven decades. The company’s aircraft have been fundamental to Army aviation training since the 1950s, beginning with the iconic H-13 Sioux, which served as the service’s first primary helicopter trainer. This lineage continued through the widespread use of the UH-1H Iroquois and the dedicated TH-67 Creek training helicopter. The Bell 505 Jet Ranger X offered for Flight School Next is the modern embodiment of this proven lineage, designed to offer high performance, exceptional reliability, and lower operating costs.

For this next phase of the competition, Bell is presenting a comprehensive, turnkey solution. This integrated approach leverages the capabilities of the Bell 505 aircraft, the standardized curriculum and instructor expertise of the Bell Training Academy (BTA), and state-of-the-art training technologies, including advanced simulators and data-driven learning tools. The complete package is designed to be seamless and efficient for the Army.

The team is now focused on demonstrating how this holistic solution will effectively transform student pilots into capable, combat-ready aviation warfighters. The goal is to provide the Army with a modernized, effective, and sustainable training system that honors a shared history while building the future force.
