ST Engineering to service Xiamen’s LEAP engines.

ST Engineering has expanded its long-standing partnership with Xiamen Airlines through a new, multi-year agreement to provide Performance Restoration Shop Visit (PRSV) services for the airline’s fleet of CFM LEAP-1A engines. This contract marks the first LEAP-1A PRSV programme for both companies, signifying a major evolution in their 35-year collaborative history, which began with maintenance on older engine models like the JT8D and CFM56 series.

The agreement underscores ST Engineering’s position as a leading engine MRO provider in Asia and its commitment to supporting airline fleet modernization. Xiamen Airlines selected ST Engineering after a competitive bidding process, citing the provider’s all-round capabilities in quality, service, and cost-effectiveness.

“Engine overhaul strategy is one of our most critical decisions,” said Tang Jianqi, Deputy General Manager of Engineering & Maintenance at Xiamen Airlines. “A long-term, stable strategic partnership with a capable overhaul manufacturer like ST Engineering is precisely what we expect. Their success in winning this first-round PRSV project fully demonstrates their comprehensive competence.”

For ST Engineering, this contract reinforces its growth trajectory in next-generation engine support. The company is Asia’s first Premier MRO provider for CFM LEAP engines and has already established testing capabilities for both the LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B models. It is now advancing towards full PRSV and eventual overhaul capabilities for these engines to meet rising global demand.

“This agreement is a testament to Xiamen Airlines’ strong confidence in our capabilities, built on a robust track record,” said Tay Eng Guan, Head of Engine Services at ST Engineering. “By stepping up our support with LEAP PRSV services, we give our customer peace of mind to focus on their operations while we ensure the upkeep of their engines.”

The partnership will be highlighted at the upcoming Singapore Airshow 2026, where ST Engineering will showcase its comprehensive aerospace MRO solutions and cross-domain technological expertise at its pavilion.
