KBR has been selected to join the Missile Defense Agency’s (MDA) groundbreaking SHIELD contract vehicle, a key pillar of the Golden Dome for America initiative. This multiple-award, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract has a staggering $151 billion ceiling and is designed for the rapid development and deployment of next-generation, layered missile defense capabilities.
The Scalable Homeland Innovative Enterprise Layered Defense (SHIELD) program represents a fundamental shift in how the MDA procures innovative technologies. It is structured to accelerate the pace of delivery to the warfighter by fostering competition and agility across a broad spectrum of work areas, including systems engineering, advanced technology development, and rapid prototyping.
For KBR, this award is a powerful validation of its strategic position as a leader in mission-critical integration and digital transformation for national defense. The company will leverage its deep expertise in systems engineering, digital engineering, and the integration of cutting-edge commercial and government technologies—including AI-enabled capabilities—across all domains: land, sea, air, space, and cyberspace.
