Boeing and Aviation Capital Group LLC (ACG) announced a significant new order for 50 737 MAX aircraft, strengthening the lessor’s long-term portfolio. The firm order includes 25 737-8 and 25 of the larger 737-10 variant, with delivery streams scheduled from 2026 through 2033.
This acquisition elevates ACG’s total 737 MAX order book to 121 airplanes, firmly establishing it with the largest lessor commitment for the 737-10 model at 50 firm orders. The deal underscores ACG’s strategic focus on modern, fuel-efficient technology to serve its global airline customers.
Thomas Baker, Chief Executive Officer and President of ACG, highlighted the order’s strategic importance. “This order for additional 737 MAX aircraft enhances the strategic value of ACG’s orderbook and supports a key pillar of our growth strategy,” Baker said. “We are pleased to be able to offer our global customers a continuous stream of delivery positions, as well as the versatility of both the 737-8 and 737-10 variants to support their growth.”
Boeing executives framed the repeat order as a vote of confidence in the aircraft family and the partnership. “ACG’s expanded order for the 737-10 reflects strong confidence in the airplane and its appeal to the lessor’s customers worldwide,” said Brad McMullen, Boeing Senior Vice President of Commercial Sales and Marketing. “With this repeat order, ACG continues to be an established and highly valued partner on the 737 MAX program.”
The 737 MAX family, renowned for its fuel efficiency and operational flexibility on short- and medium-haul routes, has become a cornerstone of many lessor portfolios. Lessors now account for approximately one-fifth of the total 737 MAX backlog, with nearly 1,300 orders placed to date. ACG’s latest commitment reinforces the aircraft’s pivotal role in the leasing industry’s strategy to provide airlines with next-generation, cost-effective capacity for future growth.
