Flytec Expands Argentina Operations with 1 New Dash 8-400.

De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited has officially delivered a refurbished Dash 8-400 to Argentine regional carrier Flytec, marking a significant upgrade for the airline’s specialized support of the nation’s mining sector. The aircraft, which arrives with a modernized interior, is set to become the first of its type to operate commercially within Argentina.

The selection of the Dash 8-400 was driven by the specific geographical challenges of Flytec’s operational theater. Argentina’s mining industry is often located in remote, high-altitude zones where standard aircraft struggle to perform. The Dash 8-400 is engineered precisely for these conditions, renowned for its robust performance on short runways and its ability to maintain efficiency in the thin air of mountainous terrain. This capability ensures that personnel and supplies can reach mine sites safely and reliably.

“This aircraft is a game-changer for accessing the interior of our country,” said Mateo Zambruno, CEO of Flytec. “We needed a platform that could handle the high altitude and rugged conditions without compromising on payload or passenger comfort. The Dash 8-400 checked every box.”

Beyond its physical prowess, the choice reflects a commitment to operational economics and sustainability. De Havilland Canada’s OEM certified refurbishment program guarantees the aircraft meets factory standards, offering Flytec the reliability of a new plane without the associated lead times. Furthermore, the turboprop’s industry-leading low carbon emissions per seat align with a growing global emphasis on reducing the environmental footprint of industrial support operations.

Ryan DeBrusk, VP of Sales and Marketing at De Havilland Canada, welcomed the new operator. “Flytec has a demanding mission, and we built the Dash 8-400 to excel in exactly these environments. We are proud to support their operations with an aircraft that delivers both the performance to reach remote sites and the operational flexibility to do so efficiently.” With this delivery, Flytec not only expands its fleet but also sets a new standard for regional air support in Argentina.
