ST Engineering’s Marine business has secured a six-year, S$600 million sub-contract from Abu Dhabi Ship Building (ADSB) to design and supply platform systems for eight Missile Gun Boats for the Kuwait Naval Force. Under the agreement, ST Engineering will deliver full platform design, integration, and technical expertise, and will also build three of the vessels at its Singapore shipyard. The contract builds on a 2021 ADSB award for four Offshore Patrol Vessels for the UAE Navy, highlighting a strong partnership and ST Engineering’s naval capabilities. The boats will be based on ST Engineering’s proprietary Fearless-class design, featuring high system redundancy for mission readiness and advanced platform systems for navigation and manoeuvrability in littoral and blue water operations. Tan Leong Peng, President of the Marine business, noted the win strengthens the Group’s momentum in international defence markets and reflects growing acceptance of the Fearless-class across the Middle East, including Oman and the UAE.
