Neo Space Group (NSG), a leading commercial space services provider and a PIF company, has significantly expanded its partnership with Thai Airways (THAI). The airline has selected NSG’s advanced NSG Skywaves® in-flight connectivity (IFC) solution for a factory line-fit installation on its entire new fleet of 34 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. This strategic move ensures that every new Dreamliner delivered to THAI will have full, high-speed connectivity capability from its first day of service, eliminating the need for costly and disruptive aftermarket retrofits.
This agreement positions the two companies at the forefront of next-generation air travel. The NSG Skywaves® solution will deliver broadband speeds of up to 200 Mbps, enabling high-speed passenger Wi-Fi and enhancing the airline’s operational efficiency. This initiative is central to Thai Airways’ strategy of enhancing the customer journey by offering seamless, world-class digital experiences from the moment passengers board.
The Boeing 787 program marks a key milestone, establishing Thai Airways as the launch customer for NSG’s line-fit solution on this globally significant aircraft platform. This achievement extends a partnership that began in 2024 with retrofits on THAI’s Boeing 777 fleet and now also includes line-fit installations on its new A321neo aircraft via the Airbus HBCplus program. The first connected A321neo is expected to enter service in Q1 2026.
The NSG Skywaves® solution leverages SES’s multi-orbit Open Orbits™ network, combining the low-latency, high-speed performance of MEO satellites with the stability and global coverage of GEO satellites. This ensures reliable broadband connectivity, including uninterrupted service over regions like India and China. The system integrates the proven ThinKom Ka2517 antenna, creating a seamless, resilient, and high-speed in-flight experience for productivity and entertainment.
For Thai Airways, this partnership strengthens its premium inflight offering and supports its broader digital transformation strategy. For NSG, this selection is a major step in its international growth, bringing its innovative and efficient connectivity solutions to a global audience. As a PIF company, NSG advances Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 by delivering world-class connectivity and strengthening the Kingdom’s role in the global space economy. NSG now has over 350 aircraft either activated or in its backlog, reaffirming its position as a global leader in integrated IFC solutions.
