Rocket Lab USA, Inc. has secured another multi-launch agreement with BlackSky Technology Inc., marking a significant expansion of their ongoing partnership. The deal, announced today, adds four dedicated Electron missions to support the deployment of BlackSky’s next-generation Gen-3 Earth-imaging constellation.

The new contract brings the total number of Electron launches for BlackSky to 17 since 2019, establishing Rocket Lab as the most frequently used launch provider for the real-time space intelligence company. Each mission will incorporate Rocket Lab’s Advanced Lightband separation systems, showcasing the company’s vertically integrated capabilities by combining launch services with space hardware.

“Long-term partnerships like these are built on reliability and execution,” said Sir Peter Beck, Rocket Lab’s founder and CEO. “With Electron’s stellar record and our team’s sought-after launch service, we’re proud to keep delivering streamlined access to space for BlackSky with these newly signed missions and upcoming launches already on contract.”

The Gen-3 satellites feature advanced artificial intelligence capabilities designed to deliver high-frequency imagery and data for commercial, civil, and defense customers. BlackSky has emphasized rapid commissioning timelines that allow newly launched assets to begin generating value quickly, avoiding the extended wait periods traditionally associated with satellite deployment.

Brian O’Toole, CEO of BlackSky, highlighted the operational benefits of working with Rocket Lab. “Rocket Lab’s agile pre-launch integration support and precise orbital insertions have aided BlackSky’s ability to deliver value with each launch,” he said. “This new contract will help increase Gen-3 on-orbit capacity as we continue providing customers dependable, flexible access to timely space-based intelligence at disruptive speed, economics, and clarity.”

The announcement comes as Rocket Lab builds on a record-breaking 2025, during which it completed 21 Electron missions. Demand for dedicated small-launch services remains strong entering 2026, with the company maintaining a steady cadence of flights for commercial and government customers. The BlackSky missions will continue to demonstrate Electron’s role as a dedicated ride-share alternative, offering precise orbital insertion without the scheduling constraints of larger rockets.

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
