Pilatus buys German Air Alliance, expanding its European footprint.

Pilatus has acquired Germany-based Air Alliance GmbH, a longtime partner founded in 1993. Known for Pilatus aircraft sales, maintenance, and flight training, Air Alliance will retain all 120 employees. Managing Director René Petersen continues as CEO, leading operations under Pilatus ownership.

Since 2014, Air Alliance has served as an authorized Pilatus Sales & Service Center for PC-12 and PC-24 aircraft in Germany and Austria. Its services also include a flight training school and commercial flights under an air operator certificate (AOC), covering the full value chain: sales, maintenance, and operational management. However, its subsidiary Unicair GmbH, which provides global ambulance flights, is not part of the deal and remains independent.

Pilatus Chairman Hansueli Loosli cited Europe as a key growth market: “This acquisition lets us leverage synergies and move closer to customers.” Markus Bucher, Pilatus CEO, pledged first-class service for aircraft owners. Petersen added that Pilatus enables growth “we could not have achieved at this pace alone.” The transaction awaits regulatory and German Federal Aviation Authority approval.
