L3Harris Technologies has announced a significant operational achievement, delivering nearly 500,000 fuzes in 2025. This record-breaking volume, executed by the company’s Fuzing and Ordnance Systems division, marks the highest annual output in the organization’s history and represents a dramatic acceleration in production capability.
The milestone reflects a sharp upward trajectory in manufacturing efficiency. Following a 2024 performance that saw over 280,000 fuzes delivered to support various defense programs, the 2025 figure represents a year-over-year increase of nearly 80%. This surge in output comes as the defense industrial base faces mounting pressure to replenish depleted inventories and accelerate supply chains for critical munitions.
In addition to the production records, L3Harris has secured historic levels of fuze orders for the second consecutive year. According to the company, this sustained demand underscores customer confidence in the reliability and precision of its solutions for mission-critical applications. The fuzes produced by L3Harris are integral components in a wide array of weapon systems, enhancing the effectiveness of precision-guided munitions and solid rocket motors used in tactical, air, and missile defense platforms.
“This milestone reflects L3Harris’ ongoing commitment to delivering advanced, reliable and high-quality fuzing and ordnance solutions to our customers,” said Scott Alexander, President of Missile Propulsion and Missile Solutions at L3Harris. “Achieving a nearly 80% increase in deliveries in a single year demonstrates our ability to scale production and meet the evolving needs of defense programs for our nation and allies.”
The fuzing systems provided by L3Harris serve as critical safety and arming mechanisms for a variety of missiles and other weapons systems utilized by the Department of Defense and allied nations. By ensuring precise detonation sequencing, these components directly contribute to the effectiveness and reliability of solid rocket motors and other ordnance.
The production surge comes at a time of heightened geopolitical tension, where the velocity of munitions production has become a strategic imperative. L3Harris’ ability to nearly double its output within twelve months highlights ongoing investments in manufacturing modernization and workforce expansion within its ordnance facilities. The company continues to position its Fuzing and Ordnance Systems organization as a key enabler of the industrial base surge capacity required to support both current operational demands and long-term strategic readiness.
